Introduction

My name is Gabrielle and I am a licensed professional counselor. Whether this is your first time in therapy, or you are simply continuing in your journey, taking the first steps with a new therapist can be intimidating. My goals as a therapist are to help support you in your journey and build bridges to a better you. One of my biggest priorities when it comes to my clients is making sure we collaborate on what therapy means to you. It is important that you get what you need out of therapy and for that to happen it is necessary to have a good therapeutic relationship, one that is collaborative and authentic. If you are interested in speaking more to determine if we would be a good fit, please reach out and we will schedule a 15 minute consultation session.

My Approach

I have worked in a variety of treatment settings, which prepares me for a variety of issues that my clients are facing. My background before graduate school was working with children with Autism, since then I have worked in addiction centers, mental health IOP's and dual diagnosis treatment. My clients have ranged from individuals who struggle with anxiety, process and drug addictions, depression or life transitions. I utilize a person centered/strengths based approach with influences from cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. This approach allows me to act as an explorative guide for you in the struggles you are currently facing, while reminding you that to change we need to learn acceptance. We can acknowledge that something isn't working for us and we want to change without having to tear ourselves down in the process. Many problems might not have answers that come easily, and through identifying your strengths and values we can work to identify what isn't working, and what might. As a therapist I value being able to walk alongside you through your journey.

It’s not the load that weighs you down, it’s the way you carry it.

My Background

I received my masters in clinical mental health counseling from Villanova University. After graduating I spent a year working in Philadelphia before moving here to Austin. Being a therapist has opened up my eyes to the importance of personal care that I take outside of the office. When I am not working you can find me trying new restaurants, exploring the state of Texas and traveling, or enjoying a good podcast or book by the pool.
