My Approach

Welcome! Hello, I’m Grayson. I offer a counseling space for adults that is accepting, friendly, and down to earth. I believe therapy can be a very beneficial part of our self-care. It can open up transformational pathways to heal the past, confront current challenges, and reach future goals. We all have a deep well of inherent resources + strengths; a big part of the therapeutic process is supporting you in discovering yours.

My approach is nurturing, strengths-based, and person-centered. I try to meet you where you are on life’s journey and offer nonjudgmental and empathetic support through life’s inevitable challenges. I utilize cognitive behavioral and solution focused techniques, attachment theory, existential theory, and self-compassion to address issues with depression, anxiety, grief, loss, and life transitions. I see therapy as a way to grow one’s self-awareness, learn coping skills, and process trauma and painful emotions. It can also strengthen one’s relationships to oneself and others, so that you feel more empowered to live life more fully and in the present moment.

My Background

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 8 years of experience in social services. I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin in 2009. Most recently, I worked at a community-based outpatient mental health center where I had the opportunity to support and provide counseling to adults from a wide variety of different backgrounds. I welcome people from all religious and cultural backgrounds, sexual identities, gender identities, and abilities. I have experience working with adults who have histories of mental health issues, substance use issues, trauma, special needs, and people from underserved communities.

In my free time, I enjoy native plant gardening, cooking, camping, canoeing, and spending time with family and friends.

Scheduling

I am available M-W during the morning and early afternoon. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to see if we are a good fit.
