Introduction

Welcome! Hi, I’m Sharon. It is truly an honor to work with you.

Over the past 15 years, one core principle has remained constant in my work: trust is the foundation of every effective therapeutic relationship. Being invited into someone’s private thoughts, emotions, and experiences is deeply meaningful, and I approach that responsibility with care and respect.

Warmth and compassion are at the heart of who I am as a therapist. Because I am down-to-earth, you can expect a space where we can be real, laugh when needed, and face difficult challenges together in a supportive and honest way.

"It's never too late to be what you might have been."
-George Elliot

My Experience

Much of my early professional training took place within college health and counseling settings, where I worked extensively with undergraduate and graduate students. While addressing the immediate stressors of higher education, our work also focused on developing healthy coping strategies and habits that could support long-term wellbeing.

Through these experiences, I saw firsthand how important confidence, structure, flexibility, and support are in helping young adults move toward the lives they want to create. Together, we can strengthen these skills and build a foundation for lasting growth.

Following my early training, I spent over 15 years in private practice supporting adults of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, religions, and backgrounds. While every individual’s story is unique, I believe we all share fundamental human needs for connection, understanding, purpose, and belonging.

Areas of Focus

Anxiety Disorders

I work with adults experiencing anxiety-related concerns including social anxiety, OCD, test anxiety, relationship stress, and depression, which often accompanies chronic anxiety.

Using a Cognitive Behavioral approach, I help clients better understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and physical symptoms. I also teach practical coping tools such as diaphragmatic breathing, grounding techniques, and visual imagery to help reduce and manage anxiety symptoms.

Women's Issues

Rooted in both professional experience and personal understanding, my work with women addresses challenges related to work-life balance, relationship dynamics, perimenopause and post-menopause transitions, caregiving stress, “Superwoman Syndrome,” and aging-related concerns.

Self Compassion

I also support individuals struggling with self-esteem, imposter syndrome, boundary-setting, unequal relationship dynamics, and feelings of inadequacy related to marriage, separation, or divorce. In this work, I combine compassionate CBT techniques with psychodynamic insight to help clients build a stronger and more grounded sense of self.

Career Challenges

Navigating today’s changing workforce can feel stressful and uncertain at any age, but especially for young adults and individuals facing career transitions.

Together, we focus on developing a sustainable and meaningful path forward: one that balances personal fulfillment, stability, and long-term wellbeing.

Life Transitions

Life is constantly evolving, and even positive change can create stress and emotional upheaval.

Whether you are navigating relationship changes, career shifts, parenting transitions, aging, or questions about identity and purpose, therapy can provide support and clarity during uncertain seasons. Together, we work to manage stress proactively, reduce burnout, and support both emotional and physical wellbeing as you move through life’s next chapter.

Parenting

Parenting can feel overwhelming at times, especially during periods of transition or conflict. I work collaboratively with parents to navigate both everyday stressors and more complex family dynamics using a supportive, solution-focused approach.

One of my specialties is helping strengthen parent-teen and parent-young adult relationships.

For family sessions involving teens, I see clients as young as 14 when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
